Former German Defense Minister and current Labor Minister Franz Josef Jung has resigned over a fatal Afghan airstrike ordered by German forces, the Labor Ministry said Friday.
Germany insists it will not send more troops to Afghanistan and it will not move them to the restive south, despite a reported request from the United States.
Two German soldiers are not allowed to report for duty because of their suspected association with pictures of troops in Afghanistan playing with a skull, Defense Minister Franz Josef Jung said Friday.
