Garth Brooks, one of the biggest country stars of all time, said Thursday he is coming out of retirement after nine years away from the music business, and will start a concert engagement in Las Vegas.
Garth Brooks has cleaned out his closet, giving some of what he found to the Smithsonian in the nation's capital, reports The Washington Post's Reliable Source column – which suggests he may have been encouraged by his wife, Trisha Yearwood, to get the stuff out of their house.

Jessica Simpson, Jamie Foxx, Kid Rock, and Sheryl Crow – not your typical country-music lineup, but they are among the stars expected to join country superstars like Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley at the 41st Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday night, to be broadcast live on ABC from the Sommet Center in Nashville.
